Located within Upton Hill Regional Park, Ocean Dunes Waterpark is one of the hidden gems in Arlington, VA. The Waterpark is part of five waterparks with varying sizes and features operated by NOVA Parks. This beach-themed Waterpark offers all the beach fun you can imagine complemented with a wide range of other exciting activities and two amazing slides throw in.
The park features two giant waterslides that will get your adrenaline flowing. You can fly down the 230-foot open slide or go for a memorable ride in total darkness on the 170-foot enclosed slide.
If you are a parent, you don’t have to worry about anything because there is a special area dedicated to kids. The kids’ play area features a 500-gallon dumping bucket, waterfalls, squinters, and waterslides. The pad is almost zero-depth to accommodate even the smallest tots.
The main swimming pool within the park is filled with pristine cool waters waiting for you to make your big splash. If you ever imagined that everything in Ocean Dunes Waterpark is about water, you’re mistaken. When you are done with water and want to enjoy some fascinating dry land adventures, the mini-golf course will be waiting for you.
Much More Than A WaterPark
Visitors often find themselves amidst dune grass engulfed in that wild feeling of being at the beach. The main pool offers plenty of splashing and swimming space for everyone. The centerpiece of this amazing Waterpark has a uniquely designed play feature boasting plenty of tube slides, fountains, open slides, platforms, squinters, and a giant 500-gallon dumping bucket.
The play feature is strategically positioned on solid concrete with a shallow depth, making it safe for young and older people. Basically, you get whatever you want inside the park.
The miniature golf course is located right next to the Waterpark and provides you with 18 holes of pure fun! It is a perfect blend of short and good targets with the much longer and tougher holes to test your golf skills.
Whether you visit during the day or evening, the golf course provides you with a unique way of enjoying quality time with your family and friends. If you visit the park with kids, be sure to challenge them to a family-friendly competition and see who will emerge as a winner.
Ocean Dunes waterpark has six baseball cages that include slow, medium, and fastpitch speeds. There are also three softball cages that feature both slow and fast pitch speeds. Playing bats and helmets are provided free of charge, but you need to have your own closed-toe shoes to participate in the games.
Fees & Hours
The Waterpark operates from Monday to Sunday, but the entry fees vary depending on age and day of the week. During weekdays, children under the age of two enter the park free of charge. Individuals less than 42″ tall and those above 55 years old pay $7.50. Those more than 42″ tall pay $9.50. Entry after 4:00 PM is charged at a flat rate 0f $5.25 per person.
During weekends, individuals less than 42” tall pay $9 while those more than 42” tall pay $11. Senior citizens aged 55 years or more pay $9.
PS: Ocean Dunes Waterpark will not be opening for the 2020 season due to the effects of COVID-19.
