CHERRY HILL FARMHOUSE

Cherry Hill Farmhouse is part of beautiful things to love about the City of Falls Church. The museum is located in Falls Church Virginia in the United States. This is one of the places with a great history, dating back to the 19th century. The beautiful farmhouse featuring Greek revival architectural style was constructed in 1845.

It was owned by a wealthy family before becoming a property of the City Falls Church. History has it that the owner of the farmhouse was one of the people who took active roles to petition the creation of Falls Church into a city.

The house later became a museum, and up to date, it’s one of the great historical places to visit when touring the City of Falls Church. The house was called Cherry Hill courtesy of the fruit orchards surrounding it.

Great History Experience

Cherry Hill Farmhouse takes you back to the 19th century Virginia. The house gives a perfect preview of the historical times in Falls Church to the Victorian period. You will learn about the history of the house, the lifestyle of the prosperous families at the time, and the link the house has to national affairs.

Cherry Hill is among the six houses in the City of Falls Church that survived the Victorian era. This makes it part of the National Register of Historic Places alongside the other five houses located within the same city. Amazingly, these six houses were the only ones that stood the test of time as there is not a single commercial building from the Victorian period that has survived to-date.

Experience The Fascinating Stories

The two-story house does not only stand out for its beauty but the great history and the experience you will encounter during your tour of the house will be incredible. The beautiful farmhouse features well-maintained old furniture, 19th-century kitchen stuff, and toys that were used during that era.

The fascinating story of pre-Civil War and the war history is going to keep you entertained the entire period. You will also be treated to costume afternoon teas characterized by some horror stories that you’re going to love.

Wedding At Cherry Hill

Cherry Hill has become one of the most popular wedding venues in Virginia where love birds exchange vows. The farmhouse can be customized into a beautiful wedding and reception venue based on your needs and preferences.

Unfortunately, the house can only accommodate a single ceremony per day. Therefore, you need to book early if you are planning to exchange your vows there. It has a capacity of 50 persons for standing reception and 20 for seated dining. You can also use the patio and lawn for an outdoor reception. You’ll need to hire tents from outside for a ceremony of more than 50 people.

Cherry Hill Farmhouse is no doubt a great place to tour with your family. It’s a lovely place for children with a beautiful playground in the adjacent park with lots of fun activities. There are also live concerts, great accommodation options, and a shopping mall a few miles away.
